Hello Followers-
I'm back.
And I'm pissed.
The NHL Post-Season is my favorite time of the year. The stakes are higher, the energy is electric, and the games are beyond exciting, but I think all the fights and major hits are putting a damper on the actual game. There has been a lot of talk about safety in the NHL and the inconsistency of player discipline. The talk is that there is a huge lack of it. Well, duh. The amount of unsafe hits that have occurred within the last week or so is absolutely crazy.
Take a look...
(Okay, maybe Zetterberg deserved this, but still...)
Granted, a good fight or two is part of the sport, but intentional hits to take players out of the game should not be tolerated and serious repercussions need to take place. I know most of the players above received penalties during the game and some got suspensions, but some are repeat offenders. How does the NHL prevent repeat offenders?
I'm not saying that the fights should be eliminated. I love the fights. But, the NHL can't exist if everyone is suspended or hurt. I don't know if more players should get ejected, be given longer suspensions, pay massive fines, but the rules need to be seriously tweaked.
NHL Senior Vice President of Player Safety, Brendan Shanahan, this is YOUR job. You gotta keep your players safe
THAT BEING SAID....
I would like to bring to your attention the scum that is-RAFFI TORRES!
In case you aren't watching Mr. Shanahan, Raffi Torres-from this point on he will be called this asshole-hit our beloved Marion Hossa really hard. I mean REALLY hard. This asshole led with his shoulder, his skates left the ice, and he intentionally hit him in the head. Marion had to be carried off by a stretcher.
Shocked, Mr. Shanahan? No? Oh, that's right. This asshole has had a few talks with you this season, yeah? Served a few suspensions for vicious hits? Yes. Yes, he did.
Here's what pisses me off, Mr. Shanahan, not ONE single ref called a penalty on this asshole. Who are these guys? Why are they professional refs? Do they have eyes?
He should've been ejected from the game and we should have gotten a major penalty.
Remember Andrew Shaw? Yeah? Well, this hit is way worse than Andrew Shaw's 3-game suspension hit to Mike Smith.
Way worse. You wanna see? Okay....
This asshole is a multiple offender of ridiculously DANGEROUS hits and somehow he is still allowed on the ice. Remember when he took out Seabrook TWICE in the playoffs last year when he played for the Canucks? REMEMBER?
He received a minor penalties for both hits and only got a 2 game suspension for the hit above. That hit was WAY more than 2 games. Come on!
Did you forget he did this to Jordan Eberle of the Edmonton Oilers a couple of weeks before the Seabrook hit?
You gave him a 4-game suspension only to have him come back and take out Seabrook. 6 suspensions in about a month? By that point he should have been finished. Yet, you allowed him to play and he continues to make these dangerous hits putting players at risk of serious injury.
You better grow some balls, Brendan Shanahan, because if this asshole makes one more of these hits then you can expect a phone call from me. Everyday. For the rest of your life.
Trust me. I have an unlimited minutes plan.

2012: A Fresh Start!
Happy New Year Followers!
I hope you are all having an incredible start to your 2012.
I can already tell that this year is going to be extremely promising when it comes to Chicago sports. As fans, we have so much to look forward to, but before we talk about the future, I want to talk about one thing I'm SO glad we don't have to think about for a long time.
The end of 2011 brought the end of the Chicago Bears season. A season that started off so great, but ended so embarrassingly awful, it's not even funny.
I had a lot of spare time today and I just figured out how to do iMovie, so I thought I would make you all a special video that sums up my feelings about the 2011 Chicago Bears.
Please enjoy!
Hope you enjoyed reliving all of those stomach-turning injuries the Bears suffered this season. If we had only stayed healthy we would all be looking forward to a playoff game in the coming weeks, but alas, we have nothing to look forward to. Or do we?
As Chicagoans, our New Year's Resolution should be: Forget the Bears and focus on the Bulls and Blackhawks! This is one resolution that I know everyone can keep. Trust me, these two teams will NOT let us down.
We can look forward to more of this...
and this...
HOT SAUCE, indeed!
Here's to a happy and HEALTHY 2012 with a couple of Championship rings to match!
